What is the Role?
The Cyber Risk and Information Security (CRIS) team plays a vital role in protecting the IT and OT assets at SSE. As part of our Security Improvement Programme, a multi-million pound investment in the security posture of SSE, the scope of this role includes but is not limited to:
- Cloud security controls
- Security operations development
- Continuous improvement
- Endpoint security
- Network security
- Privilege and identity management
Owing to growth in our Cyber Risk and Information Security (CRIS) team, we are looking for an experienced Security Analyst to join the Security Improvement Programme (SIP). You'll have a real sense of curiosity and will get excited finding solutions. You'll have a strong IT background as well as security skills but we're also happy to consider candidates who are very strong in IT and looking to make the transition to a formal security role for the first time.
You'll live and breathe AD, Azure AD, and the Microsoft Identity and technology stack, with experience in Linux environments an advantage. You'll be comfortable writing in PowerShell and experience of other scripting languages will be a bonus. Self-motivated and working with minimal supervision, you'll be evaluating threats and testing the SSE infrastructure for vulnerabilities. Experience of Penetration testing or Red / Purple Teaming will also be an advantage.
What do I need?
You'll be an experienced Senior Security Analyst or Senior IT infrastructure / Operations professional who is looking to transition to a role in Information Security. Your team-oriented interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively will be invaluable in carrying out the role effectively.
Ideally, you'll hold a relevant security accreditation and a relevant IT accreditation will also be an advantage.
