About the role

Hargreaves Lansdown, a leading FTSE 100 FinTech company, is undergoing a technology transformation. The Digital Platforms division is key to Hargreaves Lansdown's success and will play an increasingly important role in HL's future strategy and growth as the company continues its digital journey. As part of this journey, we are scaling up our System Infrastructure capabilities within our Corporate IT department. We are therefore looking for a Senior System Infrastructure Engineer with a proven track record in delivering enterprise level technical services, who enjoys working with a variety of technologies and people and wishes to further their career by helping us achieve HL's mission.


What you'll be doing

  • Delivering a best-in-class service within a high performing System Infrastructure team
  • Leading by example to create a culture of continuous improvements to deliver quality service and support
  • Supporting the Enterprise Technologies that provide Mission Critical services to our internal business
  • Creating, driving, and operating processes to ensure performance, capacity and availability are managed effectively to exceed business objectives
  • Seeking innovative solutions, improvements, enhancements, and automation opportunities
  • Managing the migration of on-prem applications and services to the Azure Cloud Platform
  • Documenting the Windows Server infrastructure for Corporate services, including backup and restore procedures, application optimisation, etc.
  • Being a technical escalation point for Major Incident and Problem Management activities
  • Monitoring and managing server resources
  • Troubleshooting of service failures and responding to security incidents
  • Creating and managing technical IT documentation, including standards, policies and processes
  • Occasional out of hours work for updates, incidents and fixes is expected


About you

  • Expert level experience of Windows Server Platforms, products, and associated technologies
  • Experience working with Azure Cloud platforms within an Enterprise environment
  • VxRail, VMware, or other virtualisation technologies
  • Windows Server Failover Clustering in physical and virtual environments
  • PowerShell Scripting or other scripting languages
  • Creating, operating, and maintaining mission critical business services
  • Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements
  • Working knowledge of automation technologies, platforms, and principles
  • Supporting the technical development of less senior members of a service team
  • Relevant professional technical MS role-based certification


Desirable

  • MS Azure certified: AZ-900 or above
  • ITIL v4 certified
  • AgilePM certified
