Purpose of Post
We are currently on the look out for a knowledgeable, forward thinking and diligent Service Improvement Manager to join our team based in Manchester City Centre.
As Service Improvement Manager you would be responsible for advising and driving the implementation of improvement activities across NQC’s internal infrastructure and our platform solutions in use by key central government and private sector clients.
Key responsibilities will include;
Contributing in helping to shaping the processes and governance around the software development lifecycle framework;
Contributing to the Product Development and Assurance and internal IT teams continuous improvement plans, ensuring that improvement opportunities are formally registered and delivered against agreed timescales;
Working closely with key stakeholders including Project Managers, Software Engineers and internal IT teams to understand the changes required to technically implement solutions;
Producing service design packages which clearly and accurately define service definition, service criticality, support models and underpinning contract conditions;
Deliver process improvement activities in line with recognised best practice methodology (managing risk, governance, quality assurance, issue resolution, reporting), where the successful implementation of service resource skills and processes are just as critical to project success as technology;
Produce detailed process improvement plans to manage risks, issues and dependencies;
Monitor the projects ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and the appropriate corrective actions are implemented;
Produce all required documentation for project delivery in line with the process;
Review the outcomes of the process improvement projects to determine any corrective actions that could be taken to improve future delivery in terms of cost, quality and client satisfaction
To apply for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following;
Software Development industry experience, ideally in a similar development environment (open source, LAMP stack, agile environment)
Experience of project delivery in all aspects of the service design & transition lifecycle management for the introduction and improvement of managed support services, specific examples including software development, systems and network management and support services
Experience of ITIL
Experience of developing new processes and procedures
Developed communication and diplomacy skills with an ability to persuade and influence client and stakeholder relationships.
Demonstrable experience and capability to manage projects autonomously.
Commercial experience in the management of projects to budgetary constraints and where effective commercial change control has been incorporated.
