Maptek is a global organisation supplying technical products and services to the mining industry. Our Edinburgh office is an easy-going team of sales and technical professionals who work across Europe, North & West Africa, and the Middle East.
The Technical Services Surveyor is part of the team that delivers training, consulting, and technical support to users of Maptek products. If you enjoy working with point cloud data, problem solving, and the challenge of work in a diverse range of settings then we would love to discuss this role with you further.
Some of what you would do…
- Develop and maintain expertise in survey and geospatial applications for Maptek products
- Provide on-site implementation and training
- Assist users to implement process improvements based on new developments and techniques
- Provide technical consulting services using Maptek laser scanning systems
- Set up and assist with remote health monitoring of Maptek Sentry slope monitoring systems
- Contribute to product testing and bug reporting
- Provide technical support to address customer problems
What we need from you…
- An interest in working in the mining industry
- University qualification in Survey or Geospatial Sciences
- Familiarity working with point cloud data
- An interest in developing new techniques and processes
- Great initiative and results focus
- A resourceful and independent approach to solving problems
- A passport and driving licence
- Willingness to travel and work at customer sites
- Excellent speaking, writing, and reading comprehension skills in the English language
- Competence in French will be an advantage
We are offering…
- A permanent, full-time position, 40h per week
- Annual salary of £35k to £45k depending on skills and experience
- Quarterly OTE bonus
