Salary: £42,700 - £58,000 (dependent on experience)

As a Systems Programmer / Software Developer you will be part of a small team and provide the provision of day-to-day support for a large bespoke safety related control system including the analysis and implementation of software system enhancements. You will be responsible for creating test procedures as well as reviewing other analysts test procedures giving constructive feedback.

Successful applicants for the Systems Programmer role will have the following experience:

·      Respond to customer queries in a timely manner and design and implement minor PL/1 software modifications

·      Responsible for undertaking software modifications to BS EN 61508 and the company software procedures (SW 1900 series)

·      Understanding of software configuration and design methodologies

·      Broad and detailed specialist knowledge of software applications based upon a central computer architecture

·      An understanding of fissile materials pertaining to criticality safety

·      Understanding of software configuration and design methodologies

·      Broad and detailed specialist knowledge of software applications based upon a central computer architecture.

·      Capable of dealing with resolving problems including those arising through interaction with end users in both written and oral forms of communications.

Qualifications (preferred):

·      BSc or equivalent in a computer science or other engineering related subject or extensive software development experience

·      Work within the Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999 in compliance with licence conditions

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
