technical bid manager

The Role:

To manage and be responsible for the everyday sales activity of the business. To liaise with the customer to understand requirements and co-ordinate the tender literature and response. To strive for 100% customer "On time in full and to specification" product and service satisfaction

This role will be instrumental to the company being able to achieve its 5-year strategic growth programme.

Main Responsibilities

• Answer all customer enquiries promptly, recording detail as required and updating the CRM.

• Be responsible for the sales enquiries and engaging with new and existing clients.

• Follow up enquiries, understand their technical requirements and work with the commercial team to generate sales proposals and tender quotations.

• Take responsibility for proposal creation, template, style, and ensuring compliance and legality to UK Law.

• Weekly update meetings and management of the CRM system.

• Collaborate effectively with the Commercial Sales Team by creating and issuing sales tracking documentation upon request.

• Work with the operations team to ensure that the proposal is profitable and executable.

• Maintain ongoing customer communications to ensure that the client has the correct support for each contract. This may include site visits and overseas travel.

• Provide accurate communication and handovers with the design, project, manufacturing, and technical teams, for each project, ensuring all parties understand and agree with the project requirements and amendments.

• Provide all necessary data and reporting of sales activity by market and type to senior management.

• Pro-active enquiry generation through targeted marketing.

• Be engaged with market intelligence on new products and services.

• Assist in forming and creating partnerships with businesses.

• Be responsible for and comply with the ISO9001 2015 standards at all times.

The Candidate:

• Qualification or previous experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

• Estimation experience desirable

• Interest / awareness in RF, EMC and shielding would be an advantage - but a willingness to learn in these areas is essential and on the job training will be provided, as our objective is to invest in the individual and hopefully have a long term career in this very specialised area.

• Good communication skills

• Willingness to complete National security vetting procedure Level SC (Security Check)

• Willing to travel UK and worldwide.

• Clean Driving license

• Passport

• Good IT skills and competence and data analysis.
