The School of Computing at the University of Portsmouth wishes to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the field of Computer Science, with a particular focus on parallel/distributed computing. You will develop our curriculum, enthuse our students with your passion for the subject, engage our students through your innovative teaching and contribute to our research profile.
You will be joining a large diverse school with strong recruitment to a broad range of on-campus and distance-learning BCS accredited courses spanning the computing discipline. The School attracts students from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures both from within the UK and elsewhere in the world. The School also has a strong and growing research profile, achieving a GPA of 2.81 in REF2014 and is currently running projects with a total value of over £2 million.
Your duties will include teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also be asked to take on administrative and other management activities appropriate to the post, including assessment, student recruitment and module co-ordination. You will also be expected to keep your teaching up to date with recent developments in the field.
You should have attained a PhD or equivalent in the computer science discipline and should, ideally, also have relevant industrial experience.
