Job Description Jatheesan Ltd is a Civil engineering/sub-contracting company looking to appoint Civil/Site & Setting out Engineers to support and lead the technical aspects of Civil/Site & Setting out engineering and multidisciplinary roles across a range of major engineering projects.

As a Civil/Site & Setting out Engineer you would take ownership of certain aspects of a project and be responsible for managing certain project technical staff, reporting upwards to Senior Engineer. Site/Setting out Engineering Duties & Responsibilities. • Reading, analyzing and understanding architectural, structural plans, drawing and other technical specification. • Ensuring that quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with Client specification • Conducting pre-start site surveys • Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, undertake surveying and setting out duties. • Setting out for all types of foundation, roads, drainage and earthworks on multiple various developments • Analyse reports, plans, drawings and quantities and schedule selected materials for ordering from the procurement department. • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise during the construction process • Preparation of reports, analysis and attending training and seminars • Preparation of reports, analysis and attending training and seminars • Preparation of report analysis and attending training and seminars
Further Job Functions • Plan the work and efficiently organize site operations in order to meet an agreed program of deadlines. • Liaise with any consultants and sub-contracts engaged in the project as necessary. • Setting out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis • Attending daily pre-works briefings. • Timely handover of works and quality records without outstanding defects working closely with the Project Manager and installation teams Civil Engineering Duties and Responsibilities • Design and engineering activities on a variety of projects • Management of some elements of work to program, budget and quality • Supervising our junior engineers and technicians • Co-ordination of multiple discipline inputs (including health and safety, sustainability, environment, planning) to achieve integrated designs/solutions • Helping ensure successful integrated delivery of projects by working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment • Generally helping to deliver to time, cost and quality • Technical execution of design, reports and technical queries • Preparation of reports, analysis and attending training and seminars.
Further job functions: • Assisting with site investigations • Developing detailed designs • Assessing the potential risks of specific projects • Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients • Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems • Managing budgets and other project resources • Attending public meetings to discuss projects, especially in a senior role • Using computer modelling software to analyze data
Requirements • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification • Some experience in design delivery including multidisciplinary design • Some experience within a Civil/Site & Setting out Engineering Design environment • Knowledge of current design codes and design software relating to Civil/Site & Setting out Engineering • Ability to collaborate successfully within a project and team environment, act in best interest of team • Confidence to work with Clients • Flexible and responsive to project and client needs • Proactive commitment to health and safety • Flexibility to work from client office, site, or possible overseas deployment for a duration up to and possibly exceeding 6 months • It is preferred that candidates hold a valid CSCS card. although we can help you get that latter. • Produce as-built surveys • Able to set out using EDM • Coordinating of CAD drawings • Carrying out and recording quality control inspections.
