We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) or Clinical Research Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis. This post would suit someone with an interest in pursuing a career in clinical research.

If successful, you will work as a CRA in the Mental Health Research Delivery Team (MH RDT), one of three Research Delivery Teams (RDTs) within the Research & Development department at Oxford Health. You would be embedded in the Aylesbury Vale Adult Mental Health Team and promote mental health studies amongst the adult population in North Buckinghamshire.

The focus of this role is patient recruitment into National Institute for Health Research portfolio studies across the mental health specialty within adult service users of the Trust across North Bucks, which involves both patient-facing and data admin work. You will work alongside colleagues within the Aylesbury Vale AMHT to identify patients for appropriate research studies and will assist with study procedures as well as the collection and documentation of accurate data.

A focal point of this role is raising awareness of research among clinical colleagues and service users and embedding research within the teams. To do this, you will attend clinical team meetings on a regular basis and reach out to service users to offer them opportunities to participate in research. The studies we support range from observational and psychological interventions to commercial clinical trials of investigational medicinal products.

We are a welcoming and hard-working team of clinical researchers who work towards embedding mental health research across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire with the goal to make research accessible to all service users and staff in the Trust.

Since our team is spread out across two counties, this role requires the ability to work proactively and independently, keeping good communication with your line manager and the rest of the team. We meet regularly via Teams for team meetings and social huddles, and encourage an atmosphere of support and compassion.

We have strong relationships with both of Oxford Brookes and the University of Oxford and many of our staff are working towards their own publications linking with university academics.

While the focus of this role is research facilitation, you might have the opportunity to carry a small clinical caseload of patients within clinical services, receiving clinical supervision from a trained psychologist (about half a day per week).
