We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Community Mental Health Nurse to join our busy well-established service in the Mansfield / Ashfield district. We provide assessment, treatment and support for service users suffering from both organic and functional mental health problems. The team also offers support and signposting to carers and family. The team is committed to using a recovery focused approach to care and supports the principles of risk enablement with all clients.
Applicants should display a compassionate and positive attitude towards working with older adults. Previous community experience and working with older adults would be an advantage but is not essential. A comprehensive preceptorship programme will be provided by an experienced clinician for newly qualified staff. There is an expectation that the successful candidate would participate in regular managerial and clinical supervision and engage in both mandatory and supplementary training as required.
Details of the essential criteria are:
• 1st level Mental Health Nurse (RMN; Diploma in Mental Health Nursing; BSc in Mental Health Nursing)
• Current NMC registration
• A full driving licence and an ability to travel between locations.
• You will be a highly motivated individual, passionate about excellent patient care, with good IT skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clinicians, patients and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Knowledge of common physical health care conditions would be advantageous.
• Applicants must display a positive attitude to working with the older adult population and be committed to caring for older adults in their own home or alternative community setting.
