We are looking for a navigating officer holding an unlimited OOW qualification and PhD to join the Navigation and Maritime Science team at the University of Plymouth delivering MNTB/MCA accredited Navigation programmes and research.

As Lecturer in Navigation and Maritime Science you will be responsible for the education and training of undergraduate students and sponsored cadets on our FdSc and BSc programmes, meeting the requirements of our accrediting bodies MNTB/MCA.

You should be able to display vison and confidence in developing teaching to keep it the curriculum relevant today and looking to future technologies and developments. The challenge here is to develop meaningful content in areas such as cyber and autonomy for students who do not have an engineering or computer science profile. You should also be able to develop and participate in research developing bids, contributing to existing programmes and leading future projects 

You should hold an STCW OOW unlimited qualification with suitable experience. You will also need to have completed a PhD and be able to contribute towards and develop research.

Closing Date: 12 Midnight, Monday 1st March 2021.

Interviews are likely to take place in March 2021 and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted or not.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
