As one of the fastest growing universities in the U.K over recent years, we have a new strategy for the next decade, emphasising our commitment to widening opportunity through the power of education and contributing our talents to creating a fairer world, and a more prosperous region. We are putting inspirational learning and impactful research at the heart of this strategy, recognising our academic expertise as our greatest asset.

The Team

Physiotherapy sits within the School of Science, Technology & Health and is a well established and successful subject area offering Pre-Registration programmes both at undergraduate and Accelerated Masters levels, alongside exciting national and international provision at all postgraduate levels.

We are committed to growing our academic reputation and providing an unrivalled student experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team of dedicated physiotherapy staff within the School of Science, Technology & Health.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Lecturer in Physiotherapy (part-time candidates who wish to continue to practice clinically will also be considered if 2 appointments can be made) to start from May 2021. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of student education, within a University or clinical setting, and be prepared to teach broadly across the spectrum of physiotherapy, with a specific focus on Neurological areas of the curriculum, in addition to participating in placement allocation and generating activities.

The ability to supervise dissertations at BSc level is also expected. The successful candidate will also be expected either to be research active in their subject specialism or have an interest in becoming research active as part of their development.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must be an HCPC Registered Physiotherapist, hold a Masters degree (or be prepared to undertake one), and have current expertise in the field of Neurological practice.

Market supplement enhancements to the pay scale may be considered dependent upon experience. For more information regarding this position, please contact Stephen Bailey, Senior lecturer and Development Lead for Health on s.bailey@yorksj.ac.uk
