Tateossian, the global, luxury jewellery brand, has an exciting vacancy for an experienced Jewellery Product Developer to work as part of their Head Office team in beautiful offices in London SW6. The successful candidate has at least three years experience as Product Developer in luxury jewellery working with suppliers in China and the Far East. You must speak Chinese/ Cantonese as well as being fluent in English (written and oral) and your approach is highly commercial as well as creative with some experience in jewellery design processes. Duties and Responsibilities • Reporting to the Senior Designer and Managing Director and working closely with Design, Purchasing and Production • Tracking prices, samples, descriptions, product amounts following through on necessary action • Sourcing products and components for the design and production of all jewellery and accessories collections from China, the Far East and Europe • Managing supplier relations in China the Far East and globally to ensure timely, cost effective production to agreed quality standards • Set quality standards, communicate and monitor incoming goods with Production Team • Effectively resolve quality and supplier issues, using language skills as appropriate • Ownership of all production contact and activities relating to current orders and prices in different currencies • Regular reporting and recommendations on selection of components and suitable products • Forecasting, costing and working within budgets whilst meeting brand guidelines • Continuous product development for a large and diverse number of components, materials and stones and range of jewellery and accessories • Product analysis and reporting insights • Stay up to date with industry trends and evaluate competitors • Working with Design to ensure products are designed cost effectively • Collaborate and knowledge share with the Sales and QA team to achieve cohesive brand reputation • Provide guidance on products to the Retail teams • Assist the Design team during launch of Tateossian collections with ad hoc tasks
Skills and Experience • Minimum of 3 Years’ experience as Product Developer within the luxury jewellery and accessories sector in the Far East and China • Fluent written and oral Mandarin and Cantonese • At least 2 years experience working withing the Jewellery industry in London • Bachelor Degree or similar in Jewellery or related subjects • Significant experience in dealing with and managing suppliers in China and the Far East as well as Europe • Demonstrates excellent understanding of a wide range of materials, including metals, precious and semi- precious stones, leathers, beads and sustainable and recyclable jewellery components • Excellent eye for detail and strong understanding of Quality Control • Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills with Chinese and Far East suppliers • Outcome driven and focused and delivering to budget and targets • Data analyst with a passion for fashion and ability to predicting trends • Strong knowledge of production critical path in a head office-based SME • Experience in working with in house Design and Production Teams • Well-rounded understanding of ethically sourced material for jewellery and accessories • Professional in dealing with all departments to achieve best outcomes • Strong decision taker who works independently as well as in a team • Advanced MS Excel • Used to busy workflow, and can prioritise tasks effectively • Evidenced team player who is accustomed to working in a cross-cultural environment • Tenacious, with a willingness to go beyond the call of duty • Prepared to work longer hours during seasonal peaks
