North and Mid Devon Mental Health Assessment Team are looking for a qualified Mental Health Professional. This post is open to applications from persons who are qualified as a Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists.
A full time substantive Band 6 Community position has arisen based in North Devon.
The post holder will work in our assessment clinics mainly in Barnstaple and Bideford but may also be required to carry out assessments in other bases in North and Mid Devon at clients’ homes or over the telephone. We are looking for professionals with enthusiasm and energy who want to make a difference to people’s lives; are creative and innovative and highly motivated. They must have excellent assessment skills and experience in mental health and multi-disciplinary working is desirable.

£31,365 - £37,890 per annum pro rata (Band 6)
As a member of the team you will take duty calls pertaining to referrals, triage referrals from GP’s, First response and a number of other services, conduct full bio psychosocial assessments including risk within the clinics, over the telephone and in peoples own homes, produce a concise formulation of the assessment and suggested outcomes, participate in the Multidisciplinary discussion and process referrals onwards both within the trust and externally.
Exceptional communication skills are required to communicate with a wide variety of other agencies using various methods of communication.
The post holder will also need to be flexible and willing to work across other areas of North and Mid Devon as and when necessary at busier times.
