This post is based within the West Renfrew Integrated Adult Community Mental Health Team. The Team is a Health and Social Work team based within Mile End Mill.
You will be responsible for the provision of a direct social work service to clients with mental health problems both in hospital and in the community and to provide professional support and leadership to your team members. You will line manage staff within the Integrated Community Mental Health Team, Choose Life Team and the Practical Support Team and be a member of the locality management team.
You must have a BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent, hold a MHO qualification and be registered with SSSC. It is essential you have experience of current policies and operational issues in relation to community care; a knowledge of Mental Health Legislation, AWI Act and the Adult Protection Act; with an understanding of current policy and operational issues in relation to adult mental health services/community care and Professional Accountability systems. You must have effective verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation, interpersonal, assessment and writing skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You must have an approachable manner, be highly motivated with proven leadership and people management skills. You must have previous experience of supervising staff and have a flexible approach as you will be required to work outwith normal office hours.
Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the department’s commitment to continuous improvement.
A social work management qualification; post qualifying experience in Mental Health; working in an integrated community mental health team and working with clients with complex mental issues is desirable. A knowledge/experience of SWIFT and a full current driving licence is also desirable.
