The University of Portsmouth is a dynamic and ambitious institution with a track record of success. The School is seeking to appoint a motivated and committed individual to lead and develop modules in both the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum in the areas of Analogue Electronic Systems Design, especially Electrical Engineering. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience in teaching the subject, significant industrial experience and/or a research in this area. The post holder will be expected to align research and knowledge transfer activities with the schools’ Research Groups. The ability to teach other topics such Engineering Ethics would be welcome.

The successful post holder will be an excellent team player, able to encourage, motivate and inspire students about their area of specialism and contribute to the academic duties of the School relevant to this senior role including course leadership.

The University of Portsmouth achieved the highest ‘Gold’ rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) the UK government’s first assessment of teaching excellence in higher education. The School of Energy and Electronic Engineering has a record of accomplishment of sustained excellence in teaching and research as evidenced by the consistently very high student satisfaction scores in the National Student Survey, the excellent employability record of our graduates, and the results of the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) submission. We offer a full range of degree programmes across Renewable Energy, Energy and Power Systems, Petroleum, Electronic and Electrical Engineering. Our new University strategy is under development and will include a strong commitment to lead in environmental sustainability and become a climate positive University by 2030.
