As a Business Development Manager you will need to effectively operate from the right and left side of your brain at the same time. You need to be analytical and creative. This opportunity isn't for 99% of people, but if you're the 1%, you'll know it.
You will have responsibility for generating leads and work pipeline and helping win and contribute to the marketing/networking/sales part of our business.
The post can be home-based or based out of one of our offices (preferably our Head Office at Bakewell) where you will be accountable to the Contracts Manager.
The Business Development Manager is a key member of our Management Team and has responsibility for driving the Company's growth, leads and work pipeline working closely with the Contracts Manager and heads of our three divisions, COO and MD.

Essential Skills
Applications are invited for a professional, highly motivated, and capable Business Development executive with a strong track record and developed skills sets. You will have experience of successful quoting and tendering for archaeological or similar projects/work in the construction sector such as QS work, sales, contract management or strategic business development, with a wide range of business contacts throughout the sector.
You will have strong networking and marketing skills. You will have excellent numeracy skills, a meticulous approach to numbers and reporting, together with high quality written English and oral communication skills.
We are looking for a forensic attitude to risk and the ability to manage this within discussions and contracts. You must also have strong IT skills. Some knowledge of British archaeology as practised through the planning system is highly desirable, although exceptional quick-learning candidates without any specific archaeological background will be considered.
You must be able to work as an effective team member who can be relied on to deliver to tight deadlines.
