business development manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Research Business Development and Contracts (RBDC) section at the University of St Andrews. Educated to at least degree level (or equivalent), preferably with a scientific background and holding a postgraduate qualification, you will be a team player with the ability to work and build strong relationships with academics and research sponsors. A self-starter, you will possess sound judgement, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to use your initiative in order to meet deadlines and service standards. You will report to the Senior Business Development Manager in RBDC.

Duties and responsibilities will include liaising on behalf of the University with research sponsors including UK, European and overseas funding bodies, governmental agencies, charities and industry with a view to growing research funding. You will possess and/or develop knowledge of research funding opportunities in the Sector and provide research funding and business advice to a group of Schools.

Experience in a similar role and an understanding of research and the Higher Education sector would be advantageous.

RBDC are currently working remotely; this post will be primarily based at Guardbridge once Government guidelines permit a safe return to normal working.
