Contract type: Permanent Hours per week: 35 Salary: £29,252 per annum (including Inner London Weighting) Location: London Would you relish the opportunity to work on multi-channel marketing campaigns and contribute to making a real difference by connecting with our legacy supporters? We are looking for an experienced Direct Marketing Officer to join our Legacy Marketing Tea to support the acquisition and engagement of BRC supporters through multiple channels, working collaboratively across other teams on campaign management, content and new initiatives. Reporting to the Legacy Marketing and Development Manager, the post holder is directly responsible for implementing legacy recruitment and stewardship strategies and managing key elements of the legacy fundraising programme. This appointment also coincides with the development of a new legacy strategy and the post holder will have the opportunity to be involved in the shaping of projects and the implementation of new ideas. The aim is to inspire the diverse audiences to consider leaving a gift in their will to BRC. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in direct marketing, preferably within a legacy/fundraising environment. Gifts in wills contribute about a third of BRC fundraised income and they play a vital role in the BRCs fundraising activity. This role is key to growing the fundraising capacity of BRC. Working within Supporter Marketing and Engagement, primarily within Legacy Marketing, this role will engage supporters through multiple channels (both existing supporters and public audience). Meet the team... This role sits in the Supporter Marketing and Engagement Team. Our vision is to lead the organisation in the mass engagement of a diverse community of supporters - offering them ways to give that work for them and generate income to help people in crisis. Together, we'll make this happen by running an exciting, fast-paced multi-channel programme and working collaboratively with both internal teams and our external partners (including fundraising agencies, print partners and media buyers). Our fundraising is critical to enabling our services that help people in crisis - whether that's in the UK or overseas. It's vital that we as a team can engage and inspire our supporters so that they choose to continue to give to the British Red Cross. About you...
  • We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, innovative and creative, thrives in a fast-paced environment and has solid fundraising marketing experience.
  • You will need to demonstrate an excellent level of numeracy and literacy, as well as strong verbal communication skills.
  • Building strong relationships both internally and externally is vital to success in this role, as is your ability to spot trends and find solutions.
  • You'll be able to plan your busy workload, but also respond to changing priorities.
Closing date for applications will be on the 18th of January 2021 with interviews to follow. We offer a wide range of staff benefits, these include:
  • 36 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
  • Option to buy an extra 5 days annual leave
  • Up to 6% contributory pension
  • Flexible working policy
