Job Title: Household Underwriter Contract: Permanent - Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Salary: £30,400 - £38,000 dependent on experience Location: Eastleigh
Ageas are looking for an experienced and driven Household Underwriter, to maximise the performance of Ageas Household accounts, by contributing to the development and improvement of pricing and products, through all distribution channels.
The successful Household Underwriter will use their excellent Stakeholder Management skills to communicate with Internal and external colleagues of all levels. The Household Underwriter will also embrace new technologies, share best practice, and have strong control of Ageas' loss ratio performance
Please note that the Household Underwriter role will be initially working from home, but once it safe to do so, the role will be a mixture of working from home and our Eastleigh office.
Here are some of the key responsibilities of the Household Underwriter role: To review underwriting rules and documentation and make recommendations to ensure that the business written by Ageas is of the required quality to maximise the profitability of the accounts. To ensure that policy wording and technical content of other documentation, including guides, are updated to meet business needs and to statutory, legal and compliance requirements, as well as ensuring that reprints are delivered within set scales and costs are within budget. To develop and recommend new underwriting concepts utilising market and competitor analysis to maximise account profitability. To evaluate new scheme, and product propositions in order to identify potential profitability and recommend any necessary underwriting changes. Provide underwriting support internally and externally in training, compliance, pricing, audit and system testing/development to maximise the efficiency of the accounts.
Here is some of the knowledge skills and experience required to be successful in the Household Underwriter role, based in our Head office in Eastleigh. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 2 years of Household Underwriting experience. A full CII Qualification is desirable. Curious, with the ability to challenge existing processes. Exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
