About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ordnance Survey for a Social Media Executive to play an important role in the Customer & Marketing team – within the Consumer Business Unit. We’re looking to transform our social media presence and elevate its performance through a customer-centric, content-focused, expert approach; and need you to help us do this. So if you’re an ambitious social media marketer, who loves the outdoors, we’d be keen to hear from you!
Customers are at the heart of everything we do and our aim is to help them get outside more often. This is an exciting time to join OS as we continue to learn more about our customers and build our best in class team to deliver business objectives.
Reporting to the Social Media Manager, you will work within the Customer & Marketing team to help deliver the strategy through creative content and activity. You will work across social platforms, ideating and then delivering content and that drives engagement and traffic, drives awareness, and attracts and engages our target audience.
As our Social Media Executive you will play a key role in the running and activation of our B2C social media platforms – including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter – and you will utilise your social media knowledge and experience to look after community management and drive engagement and growth; whilst also helping to improve efficiency and commercial performance.
Based in Southampton (currently at home due to Covid-19 restrictions) this is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits. If you are an ambitious social media professional with the right skills and a passion for all things social media, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the future success of an amazing organisation, and a career move that will give you the freedom and support to make an impact and develop.
What we’re looking for
You’ll love all things social. You get the importance of quality content. Creative, with outstanding attention to detail you enjoy thinking differently and coming up with engaging and innovative ways to talk to customers. You know what consumers are looking for, and what content works, and you’re not afraid of putting content together, from idea to delivery.
You’re never satisfied. Constantly striving for improvements, you are just as comfortable delving in to the data to analyse performance as you are drafting creative. Continually testing your ideas with customers and stakeholders, you are target driven and constantly validate and refine new ideas and look for insight.
You’re a collaborative team player. You will work closely and at pace with teams across the business including Customer Services, product managers, PR & Brand, sharing best practice & championing the customer; as well as working very closely with the Social Media Manager and wider marketing team.
You have experience working with social media platforms across the full spectrum – including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter; and ideally with experience in TikTok and Snapchat.
