The University of Portsmouth is a dynamic and ambitious institution with a track record of success. The School of Education and Sociology is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Sociology with a strong commitment to high quality research and teaching. The School is looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual who can demonstrate research expertise and output that is aligned to our strategic priorities.

The successful candidate will be research active and student-centred. They will contribute to the School’s research culture producing high-quality publications, and will be expected to be enterable to the next iteration of the Research Excellence Framework exercise. They will contribute to a range of core Sociology undergraduate modules with a theoretical, topical, and/or methodological focus, and will offer expertise in Black Studies and Intersectionality.
